How to apply for jobs as a Software Engineer ?
Motivation
- In the past I have made few videos on how to create a linkedin profile, how failing tech interviews build my confidence, based on these posts I was receiving a lot of comments and DMs on how to apply for jobs as a Software Engineer. So here I am back with another blogpost for all of you where I will explaining how I have applied for varioud jobs.
- These options are from easiest to difficult options so If you are a novice follow in the same order, otherwise you can follow in any order it doesn't really matter.

Common Tips for all platforms
- Keep updating your profile it should be 100% complete
- Have a good profile picture, it really post an impression on the recruiter that you are serious
- Update Resume , it should be ATS friendly , I will also link my resume for better understanding.
- Key skills : should be niche as much niche as possible, since then only it will be helpful for the recruiter to shortlist you.
- Example : java , spring, spring boot, microservices, JPA, Oracle etc
- Add certification if you have any.

PLATFORMS
1. Naukri.com
- A huge shoutout to naukri.com this is one of the easiest and best website to apply for jobs.
- Keep updating your profile it will post your profile above others
- Their personalized plan is also good , If you can afford that go for that, they will make your profile more visible to recruiters.
2. instahyre
- Easy to apply for jobs although expect some delay from the recruiters
- One problem I have faced is like tracking of the emails while I am having back and forth discussion with hr for this I will create one more blogpost

3. Consultancy
- There are some really good consultancy in India, you can search those usually they will reach out to you from linkedin.
- You can trust these since it is much easier to get hire this way since they will do all the heavy lifting and you just has to focus on your interviews.
4. Directly applying to companies website
- Yes, I know it is tedious but beleive me out of 10 you can receive 1 reply from them.
- I have a list of companies with me I will share those to you it contains list of 350 companies :)

5. Referrals
- This way it is easier to get shortlist for the first round since recruiters has to process the CV of the referred guy.
- But since it is difficult if you do not have connections, for all the folks who are working in tech, interact with other folks, your seniors in the same company do
- whatever it takes to get referrals.
6. Linkedin
- This is one of the worst ways to apply for jobs since I personally never get a call from linkedin.
- But now since I am having some experience the recruiters reach out to me so it is working for me now but for freshers it will be difficult so do not waste much time here.
